Special children hog the limelight in theatre festival-Natyotsav

Special children from Study Hall School’s DOSTI section performed a rib tickling play ‘Prayaschit’.  Speaking during the inaugural ceremony president and CEO of the Study Hall Education Foundation said that theatre plays a very important part in a child’s development. This was followed by a  play Mai Savitri Bai Phule by Prerna Girls and Boys School was staged.
The last and final presentation of the first day of the two-day event was court martial performed by Study Hall School’s children. On Saturday the highlight will be the play being performed by the children of rural school – Vidyasthali School. The plays were staged at the Valmiki Rangshala at Sangeet Natak Academy.
The highlight of the second and final day of Natyotsav was the play – Sita Apaharan Case –  staged by the children of Vidyasthali School from Malihabad. The second event of the day was a dance by the children of Study Hall School’s Centre for Learning titled Wajood ki Talaash. Varsha Geet by the Prerna Girls School students and other performances by Study Hall School also marked the day.
The inaugural address was given by Dr. Urvashi Sahni while eminent theatre personality Raj Besaria was the chief guest. Speaking during her inaugural address    Dr. Sahni said that theatre makes us realise the troubles others go through. It makes us empathise.

Study Hall School students once again prove how strong they are in Humanities

Study Hall School students once again shone in the CBSE class 12 results. Abhilaksh Verma (humanities) topped the school rankings with 96.2% while Ruma Agarwal with 95.2 marks stood second. Katyayani Raghuvanshi (humanities) and Satvik Rastogi (commerce) with 95.2% marks stood a joint third.The school’s average percentage stood at 82.2%

Towards reforming Government schools in UP: A meeting with DyCM Dinesh Sharma

Dr. Urvashi Sahni, President of Studyhall Educational  Foundation, met Dy CM Dinesh Sharma and discussed the state of primary and secondary education in Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Sahni, who is also a member of the Rajasthan chief minister’s advisory council (education), appraised Sharma about how administrative reforms in Rajasthan had lead to the migration of 10 lakh students from private schools to government schools in Rajasthan.

Prof Sharma showed the keen interest in knowing how the change was brought about in Rajasthan. He said that the current Yogi government was determined to bring about positive changes in primary and secondary education and he would like to discuss this further.

To this, Dr. Sahni explained that integration of primary and secondary school, reducing teacher vacancies, rationalization of teacher appointments based on the need of the school, a collection of accurate school data through a technology portal, Shaala darpan, along with increasing teacher accountability were among the major factors for change.

As a follow up of the meeting, Dy CM Dinesh Sharma suggested that he would like to arrange a presentation before the chief minister Yogi Aditynath and table her suggestions to chalk out the roadmap for educational reform in UP.

She also presented a memorandum to stop child marriage in UP as part of the India’s Daughters Campaign being run by the Study Hall Educational Foundation.

4th Art Competition ‘Paint your imagination’ by Study Hall – Center of Learning

The Study Hall Center for Learning organized its 4th Annual Art Competition on 14th April 2017, where around 350 students of various schools like CMS, LPS, Jaipuria, Police Modern School and many others across the city have participated. It was held grade wise where various topics related to social issues like Domestic Violence, Clean India Green India, Rio Olympic etc were allotted. The epitome of creativity and imagination was witnessed. Saad Khan  of City Montessori School  achieved 1st prize in senior category Arnav from Seth M.R Jaipuria  and Harsh from Centre For Learning  Owned 2nd prize, Naincy From Prerna  Girls School achieved 3rd prize, Kamini from Vidyasthali and Navya from CMS won consolation prize. In Junior Category Amhad of Study Hall School Grabbed  1st Prize, Nivedita Singh Of Seth M.R Jaipuria and Aarav from Study Hall Won 2nd Prize  Kushagra and Nandini From Study Hall received 3rd Prize and Naseema of Gyan Setu- Non Formal Education Centre received consolation prize respectively.

Art with heart wins praise

The five-day Study Hall art exhibition – Art with Heart – was inaugurated by eminent artist Pooja Sood at the Lalit Kala Academy here on Monday. Art with Heart showcased a rich collection of painting, lino-prints, photographs, installation art and sculptures made by the Study Hall School students.

Speaking on the occasion, Sood who is also the director of Khoj International Artists’

Association said that the quality of art on display is of very high and urged the students to continue to work hard and pursue their passion in art. Heart and hard work are the two things that make an artist successful.

Adding to Sood’s comments Dr Urvashi Sahni also urged the students to produce such high quality art work and said art is an expression of self.

Besides the paintings, papier Mache sculptures, wood sculptures, tribal art and lino prints also drew the attention of the visitors.

The Exhibition at the Lalit Kala Academy will be open to general public from 11am to 7pm till March 3, 2017.

Prerna students win everyone’s heart.

The annual Prerna Concert – Chu Le Aasman – got off to a colourful start with the inauguration of the Art and crafts exhibition. Paintings made students of class 6 to 12 were displayed in the exhibition.

Welcoming guests to the concert the Principal of the Prerna Girls School said that Prerna is an endeavor to empower the girls. She also shared how 18 Prerna Girls had gone on complete Visharad (graduation in music).

This was followed by a soulful rendition of the song Hamari Hain Mutthi Mein Aakash Sara

Pre-primary students performed a heart-melting dance on a medley.

Other highlights of the first day of the Prerna Concert included – play titled Macchar Ram by prep class, dance by class 2. Three other plays were also staged on the occasion.

They included Ekta mein Bal by class 3, E-jungle by Prerna Boys and the mouse wedding by class 4. Sporty recitation by class 1 students was also held.

The concluding ceremony started with the parents of Prerna Girls sharing their experience.

This was followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Urvashi Sahni. She talked about how important it was for parents to attend the function and cheer their children.

Meritorious students felicitated during Study Hall School’s convocation

The Convocation Ceremony of the Study Hall School started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest Prof Nishi Pandey here on Thursday. This was followed by a soulful rendition of violin by Prapti Jain a student of the school.
Principal of the school Ms Shalini Sinha addressed the gathering and welcomed the graduating students and the guests.
She also shared the results of the previous academic session. Ms. Sinha spoke of how Study Hall a student had gone on to top the all India NIFT exam, two students had cleared the PMT exam and many had secured admissions top colleges in India.
She then called on Prof. Nishi Pandey to the stage.
Prof. Pandey spoke highly of the Study Hall School and then she recalled how what she had learnt in school has always stayed with her. She told the gathering that school just gives us information and it is the students who have to convert it into knowledge and then it’s leads to wisdom.
She congratulated the graduating students and urged them to be compassionate.
Various cultural performances also added colour to the ceremony.

 

 

 

Study Hall Junior School students put up a colourful show

On December 7th  and 8th 2016, Study Hall Junior School held its Annual Concert-‘Tal Se Tal Mila’ at the Sant Gadge Auditorium in Gomtinagar.

It was a glittering extravaganza of song and dance, painted in myriad hues on the vast canvas of fusion… fusion with a difference! The children of classes I — V enthralled the parents and danced their way into every heart. Transforming them to a wonder world where East met West and so did North and South! Amazing combinations of dance and music turned the evening into a magical experience.

Dancing the Bharatnatyam to Jai Ho, Ballet to the Santoor, toe tapping Salsa to Rajesthani folk songs, the Robotics with AR Rehman and the nine `Rasas’ expressed in mime – to name just a few – expanded the musical horizons of all present. The unusual and unique combinations had the audience tapping their feet and applauding, thrilled to be a part of such magic.
