Cinderella 2.0: Tiny tots from Study Hall prep school teach lessons of equality
Lucknow: Study Hall Prep School organized its annual concert at Sant. Gadge Auditorium, where the students conveyed a message of gender equality and empowerment through their performances. The theme of the concert was Cinderella 2.0, reimaging a gender just world.
The event started with a warm welcome from the headmistress of the school, Rachna Sinha, who expressed her gratitude to the children and staff for their hard work in preparing for the concert. Ms Meenakshi Bahadur, principal welcomed the parents and grandparents.
Dr Urvashi Sahni, founder and CEO of SHEF, also addressed the parents and said, “We are a happy school, where everyone is loved and cared for. Our mission is to educate our children, teachers and parents about gender equality, social justice, personal flourishing and active democratic citizenship. Our children have shared this message clearly through these wonderful performances.”
The students performed various acts, including a fusion song titled “I have a dream,” a Unicorn Dance, a Fashion Show, a Space Dance, and a Kashmiri Dance. Through these performances, the children conveyed a message of equality, girl education, and empowerment, emphasizing the fact that girls have the right to aspire and choose.
Ms. Meenakshi Shah, Vice Principal of Study Hall, expressed her gratitude and pride in the students and teachers for their hard work and insightful message through their performances. The concert ended on a high note with a grand finale of the national anthem. The event was a great success, highlighting the importance of educating children about social issues and inspiring them to create a better world.
