A cultural evening with a salutation to Sawan was organised on Saturday, 13th August, 2022 by Study Hall School for the parents especially members of the Mother’s committee.
The school principal Mrs Meenakshi Bahadur welcomed the members of the Mother’s committee and the other esteemed guests and spoke about the strong ties of the parent teacher community at Study Hall.

The play ‘ Asees’ directed by noted theatre personality Mr Bhartendu Kashyap was presented by the senior students of Study Hall school. It is a satire on the power dynamics that exists in any society. It critiqued the consolidation of wealth and power among the few and most importantly showed the constant fulfilment of the needs of a majority in a classic authoritarian and majoritarian rule. Among other things it also showed corruption, sexism, transphobia and exploitation of the common populace. The powerful performances will stay etched in the minds of the audience.

A mellifluous rendition of Sawan geet by Mrs Stuti Srivastava who was accompanied by Dr Biju Bhagwati on the harmonium and Mr Sarthak Dubey on the tabla left the audience in a joyful mood and they sang and clapped along.
A rhythmic and graceful dance performance by Mrs Anupama Srivastava( teacher SH) won the hearts of many.

Naresh Saxena’s poem “Jiske paas chali gayi meri zameen” discussed “saavan” from a different perspective from how it is typically describedin literature as a season that brings joy. It focused on describing how the
zamindari system causes alandless individual nothing but suffering during the monsoon. Its recital gave the audience enough food for thought.

A Kajri – ‘Ghir ghir aaye sawan ki badariya na’ was sung by the enthusiastic mothers of senior , junior, prep and Dosti in a lively manner and it was an instant hit. One grandparent also joined the group and shared their joyful vibes.
