Lucknow, December 13: Study Hall Junior School held its biennial Sports Day, Kaleidoscope, on Saturday afternoon at the grounds of Central Sanskrit University, Lucknow. The event brought together students, parents, and staff in a celebration of physical activity, participation, and teamwork. The chief guests, Mr Vishal Vikram Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, STF, UP Police, and Mrs Singh, inaugurated the programme by releasing balloons.
Principal Meenakshi Bahadur and Headmistress Bani Malhotra welcomed the audience and introduced the theme of the event. Explaining the significance of Kaleidoscope, Bani Malhotra, Headmistress, Study Hall Junior School, said, “As Study Hall marks 40 years of meaningful education, the ‘Kaleidoscope’ theme reflects the heart of our journey. Just as a kaleidoscope creates multiple patterns from simple elements, our school has, over four decades, recognised and celebrated the uniqueness of every child, bringing together diverse talents and perspectives within an inclusive learning community.”
Founder and CEO of Study Hall Educational Foundation, Dr. Urvashi Sahni, said, “As Study Hall completes forty years, we reaffirm a belief that has shaped every aspect of our work—that joyful learning and strong academics go hand in hand. Childhood is not a preparation for adulthood, but a celebration of life in the present. We see children not as adults-in-the-making, but as whole human beings whose voices and experiences matter. When children come to us, they are yours at home and ours in school, and together we share the responsibility of nurturing their curiosity, dignity, and confidence.”
Students of Classes 4 and 5 presented coordinated drills titled “Tile Tastic” and “Whispers of White”. This was followed by a March Past by the four school houses of Classes 4 and 5, representing the school’s ethos of care and unity. A yoga presentation highlighted the Indian knowledge system, and a choral performance accompanied the field displays.
Track events for students of Classes 1, 2, and 3 were held throughout the programme. Fun races were also organised for parents, with students cheering from the sidelines. Grandparents participated in selected activities, adding to the intergenerational nature of the event. The programme concluded with a performance by students of Classes 1 and 2, followed by an appearance by Santa Claus, marking the end of the event.
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Study Hall School organized its 2025 annual concert “From Ancient Roots to Modern Wings” on 7th and 8th November as a spectacular tribute to the Indian knowledge system at Sant Gadge Ji Auditorium in Gomti Nagar. Over 500 students from classes 6 to 12 showcased India’s intellectual and cultural journey from ancient to modern times, leaving spectators with the important message that India’s progress remains deeply rooted in its eternal ideals of truth, peace, and unity.
In the course of the evening, children brought subjects like history and philosophy to life on stage through music, dance, drama, and narration. “At Study Hall, we believe that learning happens best when children engage hands-on. By encouraging them to prepare a visual and cultural representation of the lessons learnt in the classroom, the concert solidifies their knowledge base in a memorable and enjoyable way,” said Dr Urvashi Sahni, CEO and Founder of the school which will soon mark 40 years of its innovative pedagogy and holistic approach to education.
The enthralling event chronicled the evolution of India’s thought systems, from the wisdom of the Vedas and the Shatdarshanas (six schools of philosophy) to Chanakya’s political and economic foresight and Emperor Ashoka’s moral transformation through Buddha’s teachings. The show also traced our civilizational legacy and the grandeur of our heritage from the Gupta Era to the Chola Period. The legend of Vikram and Betaal was revived through an entertaining blend of dance, dialogue, and drama. Students highlighted India’s global renaissance in diverse fields brilliantly led by Āryabhaṭa in maths, Kālidāsa in literature, and Swami Vivekananda in philosophy and spirituality, with special emphasis on the role of Sufi mystics and social reformers in India’s social awakening.
The school’s principal, Mrs Meenakshi Bahadur, said, “It’s essential that our young generation don’t forget the wisdom and glory of our erstwhile golden age as they move into a rapidly advancing, self-reliant India of the future. Our annual concert has made them familiar with India’s journey from Yoga and Ayurveda to modern leaps in space research, defence, sports, and even the development of Covaxin, empowering them with the knowledge of our nation’s ability to merge timeless wisdom with cutting-edge progress. We believe that this knowledge will drive them forward in their individual journeys to realizing their dreams and the dreams of the country.”
“Mangalam”, a soul-stirring invocation and dance performance praying for the peace, harmony, and happiness of all beings was the magnificent grand finale of the concert, echoing the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and bowing to the living heritage of India’s knowledge tradition.
Lucknow, October 12, 2025: Study Hall conducted the 13th edition of its Model United Nations Conference (SHMUN) on October 11–12, 2025. Over 120 students from eight schools, including Vibgyor, CMS Gomti Nagar, La Martiniere Girls College, and Study Hall School, participated, along with individual delegates from Imart, M.R. Jaipuria School, and St. Francis School.
This year’s theme was Per Angusta Ad Augusta — “Through Difficulties to Honors.” SHMUN featured five committees, including the International Press Committee, covering topics from global security to human rights. Other committees included the Lok Sabha, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Security Council, and two Joint Crisis Committees. The conference was held over two days to allow students to follow proper procedures and develop solutions on the spot.
SHMUN simulates the United Nations. Students represent countries, research topics, draft resolutions, and debate to reach consensus. Delegates give speeches, negotiate, and form alliances while working under formal Rules of Procedure. Roles include delegates, speakers, and chairs, all collaborating to find practical solutions.
Jyotirmay, a Study Hall student and head of this year’s SHMUN, said, “SHMUN gives us the chance to understand real-world issues and learn how countries work together to solve them. Leading this conference has been a challenging and rewarding experience.”
Dr. Urvashi Sahni, Founder and CEO of SHEF, said, “SHMUN is more than a conference; it is a space where young minds develop the skills, confidence, and empathy needed to become thoughtful leaders. Initiatives like these reflect SHEF’s commitment to nurturing students who can engage with the world critically and responsibly.”
Principal Meenakshi Bahadur added, “We are proud to see our students take on leadership roles and engage deeply with global issues. SHMUN is a platform that builds confidence, critical thinking, and teamwork among students.”
A CPR Workshop was recently conducted at Study Hall by a team of doctors from Chandan Hospital for teachers from different units of Study Hall.

Lucknow, 10th September 2025: Study Hall School, in association with SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth), hosted Kathakali artist Shri Kalamandalam M. Amaljith for a special performance. The program was organized at two venues – Study Hall, Gomti Nagar Campus and Vidyasthali School in Malihabad.
Kalamandalam M. Amaljith shared his perspective with the students: “Kathakali is not just a performance, it is a way of sharing the rich cultural stories of India. Through expressions and movement, we can communicate universal emotions. I am grateful to SPIC MACAY and Study Hall for giving me the chance to share this with young audiences.”
Amaljith presented Kathakali, the classical dance-drama tradition from Kerala. He demonstrated the Nav Ras (nine emotions) and explained how the art form conveys stories from Indian culture through expressions, gestures, and rhythm. Accompanying him were Shri Suresh Kumar R, Shri Omanakkuttan, Shri Vinod Kumar, and Shri Sunil S, who supported the performance with music and percussion.
The session gave students a rare opportunity to experience Kathakali live. For many, it was their first introduction to the form. The artists also interacted with the students, sharing insights about the discipline and years of training required to master Kathakali.
Dr. Urvashi Sahni, Founder and CEO of Study Hall Educational Foundation, said: “Bringing classical art forms like Kathakali into our schools is not only about performance, it is about education. It gives our students a way to experience India’s cultural heritage directly. We want them to grow into confident global citizens who remain rooted in their traditions.”
This program was part of SPIC MACAY’s ongoing effort to introduce young people to Indian classical music, dance, and heritage. Founded in 1977 by Dr. Kiran Seth, SPIC MACAY is a voluntary movement that reaches schools and colleges across India. Through its activities, it aims to help students connect with cultural traditions and understand the values embedded in them.
