Our methodology in the Senior School (Class VI to Class XII) entails the Project Method coupled with issue-based teaching as per the level and requirement of the class. In the former, studies are integrated, like History with English, Mathematics with games and Science with experiments. Each class chooses a theme around which all subject teaching revolves, evoking creative, thought-provoking and adrenaline-rushing input. Learning is done through drama, recitation, story-writing, debates, extempore speaking and declamations.
We believe that teaching and learning is a two-way process where students participate in a no-holds-barred interaction. The teacher’s role is to provide the trigger point for critical thought exchanges to happen in the classroom.
A multi-pronged approach is taken and recommended. It often results in discussions regarding important issues which concern society. Sometimes issue-based webs are made after many discussions, and children draw their own conclusions. This is a path-breaking way to involve them in what affects them and others from day one and to turn them into thinking adults.
We prepare our children to take the Board examinations as per the guidelines issued by CBSE from time to time and arrange special classes in various subjects in the school itself to help slower learners.
