The Indo Tibetan Border Police Force, organized a spectacular flag hoisting ceremony in Study Hall School as a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga and Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav celebration to mark 75 years of Indian independence. The air was festive in the campus with the tricolour flags and balloons fluttering away in the breeze.
The program was successful in instilling patriotic feelings amongst the staff and students.
It was a well coordinated event and the students sang patriotic songs with great zeal along with the army band. The whole school reverberated with the energetic and tuneful rendition of patriotic songs. The display of weaponry caught the attention of the young students and the little ones from all grades were both excited and awed
The DIG, ITBP ( IPS) spoke on the occasion and exhorted the students to be good citizens.
The CEO and founder of SHEF- Dr Urvashi Sahni saluted the role of the army in guarding our borders and thanked the army men for their selfless service.
The school principal Mrs Meenakshi Bahadur also addressed the gathering and stressed the role of students in the creation of a powerful nation.
The event will be etched in our mind for a long time to come.

A cultural evening with a salutation to Sawan
A cultural evening with a salutation to Sawan was organised on Saturday, 13th August, 2022 by Study Hall School for the parents especially members of the Mother’s committee.
The school principal Mrs Meenakshi Bahadur welcomed the members of the Mother’s committee and the other esteemed guests and spoke about the strong ties of the parent teacher community at Study Hall.
The play ‘ Asees’ directed by noted theatre personality Mr Bhartendu Kashyap was presented by the senior students of Study Hall school. It is a satire on the power dynamics that exists in any society. It critiqued the consolidation of wealth and power among the few and most importantly showed the constant fulfilment of the needs of a majority in a classic authoritarian and majoritarian rule. Among other things it also showed corruption, sexism, transphobia and exploitation of the common populace. The powerful performances will stay etched in the minds of the audience.
A mellifluous rendition of Sawan geet by Mrs Stuti Srivastava who was accompanied by Dr Biju Bhagwati on the harmonium and Mr Sarthak Dubey on the tabla left the audience in a joyful mood and they sang and clapped along.
A rhythmic and graceful dance performance by Mrs Anupama Srivastava( teacher SH) won the hearts of many.
Naresh Saxena’s poem “Jiske paas chali gayi meri zameen” discussed “saavan” from a different perspective from how it is typically describedin literature as a season that brings joy. It focused on describing how the
zamindari system causes alandless individual nothing but suffering during the monsoon. Its recital gave the audience enough food for thought.
A Kajri – ‘Ghir ghir aaye sawan ki badariya na’ was sung by the enthusiastic mothers of senior , junior, prep and Dosti in a lively manner and it was an instant hit. One grandparent also joined the group and shared their joyful vibes.
A play’ Ladkhadati Hawayein’ by Prerna Girls was well received by the audience as they could relate to the theme and its message.
After the show -Mrs Padma Gidwani- a senior singer who was present in the audience enriched the audience with her impromptu presentation.
A nani, Mrs Bhargava of a prep student also sang and received rave reviews from everyone present.
Mrs Bani Malhotra Headmistress (junior school) thanked everyone for their support and spirited participation.
ASSEMBLY ON BULLYING By XII – B
An act on bullying was presented by the students of class 12 -B.
They highlighted the problem through simple dialogues and powerful oratory.
All forms of bullying and its repercussions were well brought out through day to day examples. Suggestions were given to deal with the ever growing menace of Cyber bullying and physical harassment.
The audience sang and hummed along the tune of an apt song on the topic which was well received by the audience.
Global Tiger Day -2022
The Global Tiger Day was celebrated on the 29th of July, 2022 by the children of Junior School, Study Hall with great enthusiasm. A Special Assembly was conducted by the students of Class 5, highlighting the importance of the need to ‘Save the Tiger’. We are proud to mention here that the children put in a lot of hard work to make this program a resounding success.
The programme began with a prayer which was followed by the speeches delivered by the children who highlighted the importance of the tiger which is the symbol of the country’s strength, pride, vigilance, intelligence and endurance.
Six interesting self composed poems in Hindi on the importance of the need to save the national animal of India, were recited by the children.
This was followed by a mind blowing performance in the form of a play based on the theme, ‘Save the Tiger’, which truly mesmerized the audience. The children understood that even though they were young children, they too could make their contribution to this campaign.
A melodious song ‘Aao Chalo Hum Bagh Bachaayein’, sung by the children, touched the hearts of the audience.
A PPT on several interesting facts about the tiger was played; which aroused feelings of amazement in the audience.
Another interesting poem about a tiger’s visit to the city, was recited enthusiastically by the twins from Class 5.
A student of Class 5 led the audience to take a pledge to take care of the environment as well as to save the tiger and its habitat.
The programme was concluded by our Principal, Meenakshi Bahadur Aunty blessing the children and reminding them of their responsibilities towards the conservation of nature. This was followed by our Headmistress, Bani Aunty praising the children for their hard work.
The World Chess Day
Class 8 A presented a special assembly on 20th July, 2022, to celebrate The World Chess Day.
The students explained the game in the form of a skit. The history of chess in India was also told. Some of the students carried the placards of the various pieces of chess to familiarise the audience of the chess pieces.
The main attraction of the assembly was the movement of the various chess pieces depicted by the students on music.
Some important, unknown facts related to Chess were also presented by the class.
‘My Opening Overture ‘ a poem summarising the whole act was recited by all the students.
The assembly concluded with a famous couplet ” प्यादे की बली और वज़ीर के साथ धोखा होता है, जिंदगी की तरह यह खेल भी अनोखा होता है।”
All India Tennis Championship Series
Shakti Mishra of class XI has emerged victorious in All India Tennis Championship Series held in Punjab June 20th – June 24th 2022.
She is the Winner of U-18 and Runner up of the U-16 Girls Category.
International Cube Competition
Yajat Acharya Srivastava of class 9 participated in an International Cube Competition organized by Cube Federation of India (CFI) and Mind Gamez. He got Excellence Gold Medal🏅By solvig all four different cubes in less than 80 seconds.
World Bicycle Day
The World Bicycle Day was celebrated on the 3rd of June, 2022 by the children of Junior School, Study Hall with great enthusiasm. An interactive session was conducted on Zoom, since the summer vacations are going on, by the teachers of Classes 1 to 5, highlighting the importance of using the bicycle as a means of transport.
The idea behind the World Bicycle Day is to recognize the versatility and uniqueness of the bicycle, as well as its reliability and sustainability as a mode of transportation.
The session began with a discussion on several topics like….the benefits of riding a bicycle, how the children learnt to ride a bike, did they give up riding after a fall, or were they motivated to try once again. The names of several brands of bicycles, their factories as well as their owners were also discussed. What made the session so special was that each child had an interesting anecdote to share with the class.
A PPT on the World Bicycle Day helped them to understand the benefits of cycling. A video of the celebration by Indian cyclists on 2021 World Bicycle Day was shared with the class. This too led to a thought provoking discussion among the children. They enumerated ways in which we could make our environment pure and clean. They also took a pledge to save our planet, Earth from the ill effects of pollution.
The children enjoyed making a badge for the World Bicycle Day. With great enthusiasm, they clicked pictures and made videos of themselves enjoying a biking experience with their family members.

International Museum Day -2022
The International Museum Day was celebrated on the 18th of May, 2022 by the children of Junior School, Study Hall with great enthusiasm. The objective was to create awareness about the importance of museums in our lives. Several discussions were taken up in the class and the children understood the meaning of various terms related to museums, like artefacts, sculptures, abstract art, realistic pictures, illusion, etc.
The class discussions aroused a lot of curiosity in the children. Very eagerly, some of them shared their experiences about the different museums they had visited. The teachers had made some very interesting ppt’s which highlighted some very interesting facts about the museums. Many videos were shared in the class which took the children on a virtual tour of some of the most famous museums around the world.
‘The National Museum’ and the ‘Illusion Museum’ situated in New Delhi was of great interest to the young ones. They enjoyed the experience of visiting the museum right from buying the ticket to getting a guided tour from a guide who showed the various artefacts and shared brief information on each of them. The children were mesmerized to see the various illusions in the ‘Illusion Museum’. They were very happy and excited to share with their classmates, the different collectors’ items and coins that they possessed. Videos of virtual tours of the ‘National History Museum’ of London and the ‘Indian Rail Museum’ were also watched with great interest. Their faces lit up with joy and they were very happy to share the information learnt, with their parents at home.
We are proud to mention here that they came up with several interesting questions that arose in their minds after visiting the museums virtually. We hope that they will continue to seek answers to their questions.
